Good to Know:

Your Next Fall Read:

We put together the ultimate fall reading list of new releases and upcoming screen adaptations to get you in the cozy season spirit.

Whether you’re looking for a slow-burn fall romance, a gripping thriller, or a historical horror novel, there is something for everyone on this list.

Grab some warm apple cider, light a candle, and curl up with a blanket and one of these books:

  • Katabasis by R. F. Kuang: Dark academia story set in 1980s Cambridge where graduate student Alice Law literally descends into Hell to secure a letter of recommendation from her late advisor. Blends myth, philosophy, and the pressures of academia.

  • If It Makes You Happy by Julie Olivia: Cozy, small-town romance set in 90s Vermont. Michelle leaves her city life to run the family’s bed & breakfast and meets Cliff, her charming neighbor and devoted single dad. (This story is autumn encapsulated—think the Gilmore Girls town, cinnamon rolls, and crisp leaves.)

  • The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones: Haunting historical horror novel is set in 1912 Montana. The story unfolds through the journal of Pastor Beaucarne, who transcribes the confessions of Good Stab, a Blackfeet man turned vampire seeking justice for the massacre of his people. Blends indigenous history with supernatural horror.

A Good Watch:

With over 120K subscribers and over 3 million video views, Wendy Outdoors is the wholesome YouTube channel that should be on your radar.

I recently came across Wendy’s videos and was so inspired by her adventurous content. She documents camping, cooking, hiking, and exploring the great outdoors
primarily on her own!

Watching Wendy’s videos is fascinating and inspiring. For me, they’ve been a reminder of how capable we are, and how it’s never too late to start a new adventure or try something out of your comfort zone.

Her bio reads, “My goal is to encourage all people to try to get out there in whatever capacity you can regardless of your age, ability, or gender.”

Intentional Habit:

Annotate your books! 📚

What: Start scribbling in your books—underline the line that hits hard or jot down notes in the margins about what you feel when you’re reading. Cillian Murphy recently went viral for saying he wants his books to feel worn. He even signs them and notes when and where he bought each one—just like his dad did.

Why: Books are meant to be lived in. When you mark them up, they become time capsules of who you are, what you love, and what speaks to you.

Underline the thing that moves you, add colorful page tabs, and don’t worry what anyone else thinks. Future you will thank you!
